Pizza Sauce

Makes xx cups

This takes hardly any time to make and a lot less expensive and tastier than canned sauce.


  • 2 Tbs olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 28 oz can crushed tomatoes (Muir Glen preferred brand)
  • 1 ½ red pepper flakes
  • 1 Tbs dried basil*
  • pinch oregano
  • salt

Heat the olive oil in a medium saucepan on medium. Add the garlic and red pepper flakes and stir for 30 seconds. Add the tomatoes and oregano and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally until the sauce begins to thicken. Stir in the basil and salt to taste.
